2023 STATS
WEAKNESS
-Average bend
-Change of direction
ELITE – 6’6ft and 265lbs is pretty much the prototype rush end – and he can be even heavier, as he was as a junior when he played more inside.
GOOD – Has a good bend, especially for his size – combined with good burst and decent change of direction. Not an elite from a pure athletics stand point.
GOOD – Uses his hands very well, and understands how to use leverage to his advantage. Can use strength and speed moves – good enough bend around the corner.
GOOD – Near elite, no real weakness – does everything well. Can hold his ground at the point of attack, shed blocks when needed, penetrate the backfield for TFL’s. Just very well rounded.
ELITE – Combined with his impressive physical traits – his motor is what makes plays as much as anything else. Non-stop motor play in and play out. Never gives up on a play and always takes pursuit angles. Half of the plays he makes are from pure heart.
BREAK DOWN
Last year at this time, I had AIDAN HUTCHINSON at the end of the first round and I was higher on him then most. He then lost some weight and played full time on the edge opposed to on the inside. The change has made him millions of dollars. He showed an explosive athletic side we haven’t seen before. Showcasing his speed rush moves along with power. He has very active and powerful hands – rarely allows linemen to engage with him.
HUTCHINSON doesn’t have a weakness – he is a special player at a pivotal position. The unanimous 1st pick in the draft for a reason.
