#1
CAROLINA PANTHERS
Built like a tank - fast - rocket arm - but has accuracy and decision making issues
The Panthers traded up to #1 – may as well go for the home run swing. They could be one of the best rushing attacks in the NFL which would help give time to RICHARDSON to develop as a passer.
#2
HOUSTON TEXANS
BRYCE YOUNG
QB size has been less of an issue in recent years - Young was a 5 Star that has great arm strength and accuracy
Davis Mills was not the answer – insert YOUNG into this offense and the Texans can surprise some teams next year. He doesn’t have the elite measurables but elite processing and doesn’t get fazed by the pass rush.
#3
ARIZONA CARDINALS
Production king but is not your stereotypical edge size - some concern on how his game will translate
With no WR prospects projected this high – the Cardinals land the next best player – ANDERSON can come in as pass rush specialist. Low risk pick that can hopefully help turn around the franchise quickly.
#4
INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
CJ STROUD
Has all the tools but a few question marks remain - but could surely develop into a top 10 QB
The Colts were a mess last year – the Matt Ryan signing was a mistake and its time to start fresh. STROUD should be an instant upgrade – with weapons already at his disposal.
#5
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
VIA
JALEN CARTER
The complete package and as advertised - interior pass rush and penetration can pay dividends in the NFL
Seattle is can grab one of the best defensive player sin the draft and help with a poor pass rush – some off field concerns but at this point it is worth the risk.
#6
DETROIT LIONS
MYLES MURPHY
Elite burst of the edge with ideal size - at a premium position. Could develop into the best player in this class
Detroit loses out on any potential QB’s but they can win now – so may as well add a pass rush opposite of the #1 overall pick last year – HUTCH.
#7
LAS VEGAS RAIDERS
Plus athlete with great lower body strength - can pick up yards on the ground - Makes good choices with the football ...usually
Looks like Derek Carr’s era as a Raider has finished. JIMMY G is a bridge QB – LEVIS has all the tools to become a superstar – and the Raiders have some weapons already in place.
#8
ATLANTA FALCONS
PETER SKORONSKI
Lacks elite physical measurables - but technically sound - might have troubles moving up to NFL competition
If Atlanta was thinking QB – it’s too late now with LEVIS off the board. Also, it appears they have some commitment into Desmond Ridder developing. SKORONSKI will help glue everything together as he is already technically sound and ready to play.
#9
CHICAGO BEARS
TYREE WILSON
Elite size with serious straight line speed - good power moves - a little raw in technique with a late burst at times
The Bears moved back for a nice haul and now they settle for a high ceiling player in a position of need. Robinson is tempting here but ultimately I think they pass.
#10
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
BIJAN ROBINSON
Wont change a franchise's fortunes - but the right situation he could become the best in the NFL
The Eagles are in a unique position here – they have a solid roster and can afford a luxury pick. MILES SANDERS is gone.. insert ROBINSON and you have the most explosive offense that can compete with KC again next year.
#11
TENNESSEE TITANS
PARIS JOHNSON JR
Elite size and length but has the mobility and burst to boot - mean in the run game and has to tools to become a great pass blocker
The Titans are in a tough spot – they have a win now roster with and were one game away from a playoff birth. They need to get back on track by ensuring the Oline is shored up. JOHNSON is a athletic and can move in space to open holes for Derrick Henry.
#12
HOUSTON TEXANS
QUENTIN JOHNSTON
A big target with speed -needs more consistent hands and route running - bursting with potential
Bryce Young and QUENTIN JOHNSON would be good start in turning the Texans into an explosive offense. Veteran WR Brandin Cooks does not want to be apart of the rebuild and Nico Collins has shown to be reliable but they need a #1 target.
#13
NEW YORK JETS
JALIN HYATT
Break out year - one of the fastest players in college football but not fully polished
May be a big surprise pick here, but HYATT might be the fastest player in the draft. He also put up 1200 yards and 15 TD’s for one of the best teams in the nation. No point of reaching on a QB here, so if they want Zach Wilson or Mike White to develop they need a someone to stretch the field across from Garett Wilson.
#14
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
JAXON SMITH-NJIGBA
One of the most polished route runners to come out of college - but does not have elite physical traits
Patriots singed some weapons in free agency but they are missing that classic New England slot WR. JSN fits the mold and would help to see if MAC JONES is the real deal or not.
#15
GREEN BAY PACKERS
MICHAEL MAYER
The prototype TE that can block - catch - and run clean routes
The Packers and RODGERS era has come to the end of the line. JORDAN LOVE needs some targets if he will succeed. WATSON last year should develop but a security blanket like MAYER could go a long way.
#16
WASHINGTON COMMANDERS
CHRISTIAN GONZALEZ
Prototype size and instincts - stays sticky in coverage - lacks some change of direction ability and footwork
GONZALEZ is the top CB for many this year – and the Commanders could still use some help in the secondary. Mid way through the draft, this is a real value pick. He has good length and footwork to fit into any scheme.
#17
PITTSBURGH STEELERS
Might not be a shut down CB in the NFL but a good starter with a ton of film going against the best in the NCAA to back it up
The Steelers added the offense last draft and created a good foundation but its time address the defense. RINGO has that dog mentality that fits the Steelers mold. Not to mention he is not afraid to come down in the run game.
#18
DETROIT LIONS
Has good arm length and explosive burst - combined with ball skills and tough against the run
Lions pass defense could use some work – FORBES is light when it comes to weight but he plays much bigger and can fit right in with the Lions underdog new mentality.
#19
TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
BRYAN BRESEE
Quick and powerful - can be a force and take over games - but needs to be more consistent
What do you do if you are the BUCS? QB’s are gone – your roster is on the old side.. Best available player is BRESEE – may as well start by bringing in the best players available.
#20
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
A fluid and lengthy cover corner that excels in man coverage - valuable traits in modern NFL
Seahawks already attacked secondary last year in the draft so this may be a surprise pick to some – but SMITH is one of the best players available and you can never have too many CB’s in todays NFL.
#
MIAMI DOLPHINS
#21
LOS ANGELES CHARGERS
JORDAN ADDISON
Explosive and quick with video game numbers - physical size is a concern and could limit his potential as a number 1 option
Addison stays in LA and joins Herbert to form an explosive WR core. With Mike Williams injury issues and Keenan Allen’s age – Addison can assume a big role and help give Herbert a dangerous play maker that can go deep or catch screens and go the distance.
#22
BALTIMORE RAVENS
O'CYRUS TORRENCE
Stays low and blows up defenders in the run game - able to get to the next level making it difficult for LBs - holds his own in the pass game
It’s not the sexy pick – but its a good Ravens pick. They need WR help but assuming Bateman can stay healthy – Guard Kevin Zeitler will turn 33 this offseason and Torrence is an upgrade, who didn’t allow a sack at Florida and he was a consensus All-American.
#23
MINNESOTA VIKINGS
Tall with natural ball skills, combined with fluid feet and a competitive attitude - makes for a great NFL CB
The Vikings can go anywhere with this pick – Kendricks and Thielen are aging and are due a ton of money. But they have a need at CB and PORTER has the bloodlines and attitude to make for a good starting CB.
#24
JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS
DEVON WITHERSPOON
Raw in technique and a little too handsy - but explosive and locates the ball - has the tools to become great
The Jags acquired some good targets – in Ridley, Kirk, and Ingram at TE. But the secondary is looking thin – WITHERSPOON has all the tools to become a top CB in the NFL. Across from Tyson Campbell – it could become a solid duo.
#25
NEW YORK GIANTS
TRENTON SIMPSON
Plays all over the field and has the speed and fluidity of a DB - the new age linebacker for modern day NFL
Again, the Giants have multiple holes to fill – but Simpson is the most unique defensive talent still available. With a solid front 4 -he should be able to fly around and make plays with his speed.
#26
DALLAS COWBOYS
ZAY FLOWERS
Quick and explosive - plays bigger than his size - can play outside WR
It has to be Dak in Dallas for a few more years. Outside of Lamb the Cowboys have a lack of play makers – Gallup hasn’t been able to step up into the number 2 role. FLOWERS has tons of production and is explosive to pair up with Lamb and should help get the Cowboys offense rolling again.
#27
BUFFAFLO BILLS
BRODERICK JONES
Might not be a LT in the NFL but a solid plug and play that can be used in multiple positions across the line
Bills have disappointed a bit and they still need some targets in the passing game or a pass rusher. But ultimately they need a strong O-Line for Allen to be at his best. JONES can play multiple positions and has real value here.
#28
CINCINNATI BENGALS
DALTON KINCAID
Athletically gifted receiving threat that is still new to football - needs to become a better blocker
The Bengals could use a TE of the future – outside of Higgins and Chase they don’t have a lot of options. KINCAID has major receiving upside as a vertical threat. They could also go O-LINE at this spot.
#29
DENVER BRONCOS
ANTON HARRISON
Great power and technique - keeps his feet sliding - but not a special athlete
The Broncos need to ride with Russ for a little while – may as well try to make it work by giving him better protection. At the very least – you have a good LT for the next QB.
#30
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
BJ OJULARI
Athletic and fluid with a wide array of pass rush moves - needs to improve against the run
KC is still missing that number 1 WR but they traded for Toney and drafted Sky Moore last year. OJULARI has special pass rush ability and should help make some impact plays immediately.
#31
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
BRIAN BRANCH
Great speed and quickness - but lacks size and ball skills - might be a slot only prospect
Eagles have a solid roster but they could use help at safety/slot CB – BRANCH fits the mold perfectly and has a ton of experience – plug and play team fit.
