PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
2022 NFL DRAFT
#15
JERMAINE JOHNSON
EDGE
BREAKDOWN
This is where the Jordan Davis trade went down – I have a top 10 grade on Davis so I can’t knock on the decision. But trading all those picks in this draft would make our GM MODE a lot more boring. So for the purpose of having more fun we went ahead without it and pick JERMAINE JOHNSON – assuming Davis would not have been here?
#18
AJ BROWN
WR
BREAKDOWN
I know we just said that we didn’t really want to make trades but how can we not? We only had to give up a 3rd – so we can still have fun in this GM MODE and get AJ BROWN.
What a steal for the Eagles – we would do this trade 7 days a week.
#51
LB
BREAKDOWN
Dean had a drastic fall in the draft because of an apparently medical issue. Not much I can do to see if those issues would be a red flag, but he seemed healthy on the field last year!
The best linebacker in the country – with amazing speed and instincts. Rated as a top 10 draft pick for us here – a steal in the 2nd round.
PERRION WINFREY
DT
BREAKDOWN
The Eagles need youth on the defensive line – we went EDGE in the first round and interior here with WINFREY.
He should of his pass rushing ability at the senior bowl and is a steal in the 3rd round even if he is just on the field on 3rd down.
#124
DARIAN KINNARD
OT
BREAKDOWN
A potential starting right tackle at this point of the draft is a steal, and worse case scenario – KINNARD can kick inside to guard.
He can play 3 out of 5 positions on the Oline – a valuable pick in a run heavy scheme.
CARSON STRONG
QB
BREAKDOWN
The QB draft class this year is the strangest one I can ever remember. What happens with these QB’s over the next 5 years will be interesting – and may shape the way the NFL values QB’s moving forward.
STRONG ended up going undrafted – I understand the fall, he was a 0 star prospect and had a big injury making him very immobile. But he put up great stats, is tall in the pocket, powerful arm with a good release. He has high upside – may as well take a shot and see if he can put it all together.
ISAIH PACHECO
RB
BREAKDOWN
PACHECO has everything you want in a RB – BMI over 30 – 4.3 speed – lateral quickness and good production. Not great production, and not for a big name school, which is why he falls in the draft.
But he honestly has no business being here at pick 162, if he can get the opportunity – he may take hold of a backfield. Or at the very least be a big play threat.
#166
MARKQUESE BELL
S
BREAKDOWN
A small school guy with all the straits that you could ask for. Ran a blazing 40 time at the combine and was a tackling machine on film. His coverage skills will be the question mark moving up to the NFL.
At this point in the draft, may as well see if he can compete and get accustom to the NFL speed.
