Breakdown
One of the most unanimous #1 QB prospects since Andrew Luck, I’d say he is even higher regarded. And for good reason, he doesn’t have many weaknesses. He could use some more weight on his frame, bigger NFL players bracing their full weight on him could lead to potential injury. In addition, most of his misfires were on short out routes that were thrown inside opposed to outside towards the sideline. And occasionally he underestimated linebackers closing speed in hook/curl zones. Faster NFL players might make him pay, but he is very smart and will adjust his game. He will be a cornerstone of an NFL franchise for over a decade. NFL QB’s have been finding early success recently, and I expect Trevor Lawrence to immediately improve a team and push for a 500% record and playoff spot no matter the location.
He can play in any system – ideally in a system that utilizes his legs and RPO’s.
Best landing spot for him by teams at the top of the draft would be the Jacksonville Jaguars. They have a good young offensive line and a stud in James Robinson that can put you in 2nd + 3rd and short situations. In addition to some young WR’s such as DJ Chark and Colin Johnson out wide – and Laviska Shenault inside. Also, Jacksonville wouldn’t be too far from home so he could utilize his strong support from family and friends.
