THE BREAKDOWN

Transferred to Alabama and was expected to have a major break out season. That didn’t go exactly to script but wasn’t a failure either. At times it seemed like GIBBS was in the dog house or being punished. But he also showcased some big play ability and had some break out games. It is difficult to pin point whether the fault lies with the player or coaching staff – regardless Alabama has had a disappointing season but GIBBS has shown enough rare talent to be considered a 1st or early 2nd round pick.

Typically, it would be difficult to put a 200 lbs RB in the first round – but GIBBS has truly game breaking speed and agility. He can force miss tackles in open space – making defenders look silly and grasping at air. In addition, he is a mismatch threat in the receiving game. He can have take screens and check downs for big gains or line up in the slot against safeties and linebackers.

In the right hands, GIBBS can be a massive chess piece used in the likes of Kamara, Eckler or Ettiene. His skill set is hard to find and will be a solid contributor even if in a committee role.
