Breakdown
Carter is a part of the dangerous UNC rushing attack this year, a duo with Javonte Williams. Carter is the lightning of the duo, being quick twitched as a runner. He can jump cut out of tackles in a flash and make people look silly in small spaces. Carter has great balance after contact, often resulting in extra yards and big plays. In addition, he can help in the passing game both as a receiver and blocker. Which is what his niche will most likely be in the NFL. His size limits his potential as an every down running back, he is sturdy being 200lbs at only 5’8 but too often he takes big hits and can’t break arm tackles.
Carter can have success in the NFL, but I don’t see him leading a backfield as a top dog. He can be a great change of pace guy, and contribute on passing downs. Because of his limited role, I wouldn’t be able to draft him higher than the 3rd round.
