Breakdown
Compared to Kyle Pitts, Brevin Jordan is a much different type of player, a shorter more explosive receiver. He is a swiss army knife that can cut deep. He was productive as both a tight end and slot WR, he could even line up at H-back and run the ball/lead block/catch out of the backfield. Miami did a poor job of utilizing his skill set to create favorable match ups. He had decent production in college but I think it will substantially improve in the NFL. Jordan is an impressive athlete for someone his size, he is straight line fast and fluid changing direction. After the catch he can make people miss and run through tackles for big gains. He has a stocker build that helps him get under defenders and drive them out of the way when blocking. Jordan has good secure hands but doesn’t always go up and attack the ball at the highest point.
Brevin’s best playing days are ahead of him, he is a rare athlete with natural football ability. The right NFL coaches will understand how to get the best out of his abilities. He is a mismatch waiting to happen, he can line up anywhere – to hide him or get a favorable match up. Elite tight ends are hard to find, and holds little risk outside the first 20 picks.
