THE BREAKDOWN
Considered an elite prospect coming out of high school but has failed to fully live up to expectations. He transferred to Ole Miss for a change of fortunes – but actually lost some time share to a freshman.
EVANS still possesses elite speed – he is a smooth runner that weaves and glides through tackles. He doesn’t juke defenders and make them miss in a phone both. Rather he sets them up in the open field. His good size allows him to break arm tackles, but his upright running style limits his ability to be a down hill runner. Having troubles gaining yards after contact. Good receiving ability and vision allow EVANS to be a threat in screens/end arounds.
Overall, EVANS is best used as a big play threat – running outside or in delayed draws. Won’t be the every down work horse – but can be used in a rotation. If he can maintain a good weight and run with a mean streak – he could find himself in a starting position.
