Mock Draft

Check out the LIVE draft we did for the JAGUARS last year - As the feature team in our GM MODE - this years team will be the PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

The Jags tagged Cam Robinson, drafted Walker Little – not the ideal scenario but they seem to be postured to draft AIDAN HUTCHINSON. The safest and most wise pick – his transfer to the NFL should be seamless. I except the Jaguars to aggressively pursue free agents to help Trevor Lawrence, as they have a ton of cap space.

The Lions drafted Sewell last year, and no one else fits the bill here at #2. They pull the trigger on KAYVON – and Dan Campbell gets a little tougher in the trenches. KAYVON was the slam dunk number 1 pick going into the college football season – his stock took a little hit but he has all the physical tools to become a premier pass rusher at the next level.

Houston needs a lot of help at any position really – QB is a dilemma; Deshaun Watson might come back and maybe he can’t be traded and will give the Texans an other shot. On the other hand Davis Mills looked good at times during his audition this year. The best bet is for the Texans to just pick the best player on the board. Which happens to be a position which will help Mills or who ever is playing QB for the Texans in the future.

This is the first mystery pick in the 2022 draft. They’re many talented pass rushers and coverage guys in the draft – but they are all a little too much of a reach at #4. The Jets have been addressing O-Line a bunch in recent years, so this may be a head scratcher to some. But may as well double down, IKEM EKWONU has versatility and I’m sure they could shuffle around guys to make an all star line up. This pick comes down to what helps the team most – a very talented player at an important position that can help give WILSON more time in the pocket.

CHARLES CROSS

The Giants need to give Barkley some offensive line – he is hitting the point of his career where he might only have one more contract left in the tank. If they don’t want to waste his abilities they need to shore up the trenches. CHARLES CROSS can can line up anywhere and is a plug and play player from day one. Very athletic and effective pass blocker – that has a ton of reps. It also helps Daniel Jones for the time being and sets up a more stable roster even if they move on and go QB in next years draft/free agency.

The QB roller coaster ride in Carolina needs to come to an end. They have a good roster that can win now with the right – MALIK WILLIS may not be fully polished but he can win games with his feet and keep the chains moving. Furthermore, he has the most upside if he can reach his peak potential. His athletic ability and arm strength displayed at the senior bowl and combine has created a a pre-draft buzz.

Giants addressed offensive line with their first pick – they have the targets on offense, now its time to improve the defense. SAUCE GARDNER has all the physical tools to become a dominant playmaker in the NFL. His size and speed combination is very rare and is something you can not teach. His combine display of smooth feet and great speed has propelled him up draft boards. He could develop into a lockdown CB with playmaking ability.

In the wake of the CALVIN RIDLEY gambling fiasco – the Falcons need an other playmaker on offense. PITTS did a great job as a rookie, but they need someone with a different skill set. GARRET WILSON has the speed to take the top off defenses and the agility/route running to line up in the slot. He has put himself in WR1 conversation with his blazing 40 time.

QB has to be the logical choice here – and rumor has it that Seattle fancies MATT CORRAL. He doesn’t have stand out size, but neither did Russ Wilson. CORRAL relies on sneaky athletic ability and solid accuracy and decision making. He may be a good fit for the run heavy Seattle team – working off play action.

The Jets helped WILSON and Co with their last pick – and now they address the defense. HAMILTON had a disappointing combine but he made some big plays and has elite size for the position. The Jets will have to make sure they put HAMILTON in good position to succeed – and he can be a great match up chess piece.

Washington went all in for Carson Wentz – thus no QB here. They have a solid supporting cast, but they could use a stud CB to help lock up WR’s and let their pass rushers hit home. STINGLEY has had an up and down college career but has shown he can compete with the best in the nation. As long as he shows up on his pro-day, he should be considered a top 15 pic with press man capabilities.

Obviously the big question will be what do the Browns do with Baker Mayfield? assuming they sick to the devil they know, opposed to the unknown – the unquestionable need will be at WR to fill the void left by OBJ. GARRETT WILSON falling to pick 13 would be ideal for the Browns, the local Ohio State WR is a clean route runner with great hands. A good compliment to some of the downfield threats that they already have on roster including Donovan Peoples-Jones and speed demon Anthony Schwartz.

The Ravens are hard to gauge after their injury plagued season. They seemingly don’t have many weaknesses on paper – have good targets and Dobbins coming back from injury. JORDAN DAVIS was one of the most dominate players in college football last year, reeking havoc in the backfield. He is an old school throwback DT we haven’t seen in the league for some time. The Ravens still play old school football and JORDAN DAVIS could be the center piece of the defense.

If you’re an Eagles fan this should be a very fun first round – first on the menu is AHMAD GARDNER the lengthy CB has yet to give up a touchdown pretty much ever.. This loaded WR class is bound to make a few superstars fall into the late first and second round – BURKS has incredible burst and a big body that makes him way to fast and physical for CB’s to compete with. Combine him with one of the leagues best young QB’s and you have yourself a match made in heaven.

Maybe the Saints bring Winston back – even if they do – it might be time to start a new page in New Orleans, one without Sean Peyton. MALIK WILLIS has unbelievable potential, basically a character from a video game or movie. Built like and runs like a RB but with a cannon arm. Problem is he is a litte raw, and needs some fine tuning – if they can put him in position to develop and flourish, we could see the Saints rebound back into the playoffs sooner rather than later.

The Eagles finally have to go offense and help Hurts – they have decent targets now so the best way to help is to keep him upright. Kelce has been a cornerstone of the franchise for years, but at some point the torch needs to be passes and LINDERBAUM could be the perfect replacement. He is a technician when it comes to blocking and could play guard for a year or two and learn from the best, before taking over.

The Ben Ben era has come to an end – and I doubt the Steelers bank their entire year on Dwayne Haskins. They could very well end up going after a veteran WB, but the class is deep this year so why not take a shot. SAM HOWELL has a Pittsburgh grittiness to him, a tough competitive athlete with a strong arm. He doesn’t come without some question marks but he has proven that if he has a solid cast, he can be productive and that is exactly what the Steelers have right now. They can run the ball and spread the ball out to play making WR’s – just like North Carolina did in 2020.

Miami had a solid run at the end of the year and they look to take the next step as a consistent winning team. They are solid of defense, they need to rally around Tua Tagovailoa by surrounding him with best weapons possible. They could use WR or OL but a solid running game could be just what a young QB needs to work off of RPO’s and play action. BREECE HALL has the size and speed to make defenses pay if given a crease – or  he can wear down a defense just by slamming the rock.
